On September 27th, outlets all over the United States focused on the massive walkout of 12,000 students who protested the idea that schools should not hide a student’s gender transition from their parents. Although news outlets suggested that the walkout was formed by concerned students, at the helm was Aaryan Rawal, who is not a high schooler but a college student who just happened to work with Democrat state lawmakers in Virginia.

And if 12,000 students supporting his ideas isn’t alarming, according to the Daily Wire, a pro-trans group in Virginia will help gender-confused students hide from their families and even rehome them with “queer-friendly” parents.

Called the Pride Liberation Project, the group communicated on an internal message board, which showed Aaryan Rawal writing about supposedly saving gender-confused students from their parents. “We’re creating this channel as a way for everyone to understand the mutual aid and support resources the PLP has available for outed and in-crisis students! For full transparency, this channel is catered to outed students who are facing familial rejection or need to leave their home for another reason.” He added, “In the event of you needing to leave your home, we can provide you with emergency housing from a supportive, Queer-friendly adult. Please note that this adult will likely be white.”

Giving some insight about what resources they had at their exposal, Aaryan Rawal admitted, “We may not be able to provide you that housing the same night, but we anticipate that we can secure someone to take you in within 1-2 days, and we will work with other supportive adult organizations in the region to find you someone who can provide you a kind and affirming home. In the short term, we can provide a couple of hundred dollars immediately. We can send this to you through Venmo or Zelle. Please note that it’ll say the money comes from the PLP account, but we may be able to change the name if needed.”

Gaining a great deal of backlash, David Gordon, the head of a conservative group called The Virginia Project, explained that helping kids run away from their families is dangerous. “It is irresponsible and reckless to the extreme to be doing this with other people’s kids. The way this operation works is nearly identical to sex trafficking This could never be underwritten by any insurer. The chance of one of these kids ending up being sexually abused is almost certain.”

Users voiced their outrage over the Pride Liberation Project, claiming, “So, to be clear, in order to protest a policy that would inform parents that their children are whatever, you have an initiative that allows them to leave home and find newer, better parents. I’m guessing when you do that, the parents will find out about their kid.”
