Pop singer Taylor Swift has filed for a temporary restraining order against a 45-year-old man she says has been harassing her repeatedly at her Los Angeles residence, including multiple in-person visits and attempts to tie himself to her legally.
According to court documents filed on Friday and obtained by TMZ [1], Swift alleges that Brian Jason Wagner, a previously incarcerated man, has shown up to her home on multiple occasions claiming to be connected to her.
In one instance, he allegedly told her security staff that he was visiting a friend, which Swift’s team dismissed as untrue.
Swift says she later learned through her security team that Wagner had been sending her letters from prison for years, with what she described as “fabricated stories” involving her personal life.
The communications reportedly included troubling language and claims that have caused alarm within her security team.
One of the most concerning details raised in the court documents is that Wagner allegedly lied to the Department of Motor Vehicles in order to list Swift’s residence as his own address on his driver’s license.
Swift says this act was part of a broader pattern of behavior that she described as both threatening and invasive.
In July 2024, Wagner reportedly visited Swift’s property at least three times. In one alleged instance, he was said to be carrying a glass bottle, which Swift noted “could have been used as a weapon.”
Swift made clear in the legal filings that she has never met Wagner nor had any communication with him, directly or indirectly.
She is now asking the court to issue a restraining order that would bar Wagner from coming within 100 yards of her home, workplace, vehicle, and person.

The case adds to a growing list of security incidents involving high-profile public figures and individuals with criminal records attempting to approach them directly.
Swift’s legal team is requesting immediate court intervention due to what they describe as an escalating threat to her safety.
“There is no indication yet as to when the court will rule on Swift’s request,” he told Fox News Digital.
