Actor Alec Baldwin and his brother Stephen Baldwin were involved [1] in a car accident in the Hamptons, New York, on Monday morning, according to statements from representatives and law enforcement officials.
Both men were unharmed.
Stephen Baldwin’s representative confirmed the incident in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Stephen is doing fine and is grateful no one was injured. He appreciates the concern and he can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well,” the representative said.
Alec Baldwin, 67, later addressed the accident on Instagram, assuring followers that he was not hurt.
“This morning, I was in a car accident. I’m fine,” Baldwin said.
He explained that the crash occurred when a large garbage truck unexpectedly entered his lane.
“A garbage truck the size of a whale cut me off while I was driving my wife, Hilaria Baldwin’s, car,” Baldwin said.
“To avoid hitting him, I hit a big fat tree and crushed my wife’s car. I crushed my wife’s car—I feel bad about that.”
Baldwin added that both he and his brother escaped injury.
“That’s all fine, and I’m fine, and my brother’s fine. My wife’s car is pretty smashed up. Big tree, big fat tree,” he said.
The actor thanked the East Hampton Police Department for responding to the scene.
“I want to thank the East Hampton Police Department for their help,” Baldwin said, adding that he plans to travel to California this week to reunite with his family.
“I’m going to L.A. to see my family. Can’t wait. Going out to California to gather my family together, spend a few days out there and then come home,” he said.
He also expressed support for his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, following her recent elimination from Dancing with the Stars.
“I’m still so proud of my wife, Hilaria. I love you more than anything, and I’m very proud of you,” Baldwin said in his post.

TMZ was the first outlet to report the crash.
The site published photos showing a damaged black Range Rover with extensive front-end damage and a nearby garbage truck at the scene.
According to the report, the vehicle struck a tree after Baldwin swerved to avoid a collision.
TMZ said the sanitation company involved denied that its driver was responsible for the crash.

Alec Baldwin was in the Hamptons to attend the Hamptons International Film Festival, which concluded Sunday evening.
He reportedly appeared at the Buffalo Film Festival on Saturday before returning to Long Island for the event.
The 30 Rock actor has remained active in public appearances despite ongoing legal and professional challenges.
Most recently, he has been accompanying his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, as she competed on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars.
Hilaria, 41, was eliminated from the competition last week following a performance to a song from Star Wars: A New Hope during the show’s “Disney Night.”
Speaking to Fox News Digital after her exit, she thanked her family for their support. “It’s such a dream to have my family here,” she said.
Reflecting on her time on the show, she called it both “heartwarming and painful,” noting the impact of public misconceptions about her.
“One of the most heartwarming and painful things that I’ve experienced on this show has been people coming up to me and saying that their friends ask me what it’s like when they actually meet me, and they say ‘She’s so nice,’” Hilaria said.
“And they’re telling them that they’re defending me and I think, how sad that there’s so much misinformation and I hope that with the rest of the days that I have I can help other people who feel misunderstood too.”
Authorities have not indicated that any charges are expected in connection with the crash.
The damaged vehicle was towed from the scene later in the day.
