Political commentator Scott Jennings reported that the City of Minneapolis has confirmed no arrests were made after civilians erected illegal neighborhood blockades where motorists were stopped and license plates were checked without any law enforcement authority.
Jennings said he sought official clarification from the city after videos surfaced showing civilians setting up barricades in Minneapolis neighborhoods, stopping vehicles, and questioning drivers about their license plates.
According to Jennings, those civilians appeared to be using some form of database to determine whether a vehicle was associated with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“Breaking news to all of you this morning, as I was preparing the show, I was preparing to report to you all about the neighborhood blockades that are going on in Minneapolis,” Jennings said.
“You’ve seen the video. I’m sure these civilians are setting up blockades. You pull up and they check your license plate. These people aren’t police. They’re not there in any official capacity, but they check your license plate. This is highly illegal.”
Jennings said he contacted the City of Minneapolis directly to ask whether anyone had been arrested for participating in the blockades or harassing drivers.
“So I emailed Jared, you know you were there. I emailed the City of Minneapolis, and I had a simple question, Has anyone been arrested for setting up illegal blockades, for harassing citizens,” Jennings said.

After corresponding with city officials, Jennings said he received a response from the Minneapolis Police Department confirming that no arrests had been made.
“I will read it to you. No arrests have been made,” Jennings said. He added that city officials told him Public Works crews removed the barricades from the street but took no further enforcement action.
“Now, the city did tell me that the Public Works team did clean up the street and they took away the barricades and all the crap that was in the street, but no arrests have been made,” he said.
Jennings questioned why civilians were allowed to block public roads, stop vehicles, and question drivers without consequences.
“Why? Why? Why are civilians in Minneapolis, Minnesota, or anywhere else for that matter, allowed to go out into the street, build a barricade, physically stop other citizens,” Jennings said.
He described video footage showing civilians telling drivers their license plates had been checked against a database.
“I’ve seen video of people saying, Oh, we ran your license plate through a database and it looks like your car is owned by ICE. We need you to get out of the car. We need to talk to you about this,” Jennings said.
Jennings said such encounters pose safety risks and amount to harassment.
“This is not normal behavior,” he said.
“It is more than just a traffic hazard. It is unsafe, it is harassment. This is clearly illegal behavior.”
Jennings tied the lack of enforcement to previous statements about Minneapolis police being instructed not to assist ICE.
He referenced comments made by Todd Lyons on his show indicating the mayor directed police not to assist ICE agents under certain circumstances.

“Now we already know that in Minneapolis, according to Todd Lyons, who told us on this show, the mayor told the police department, do not assist ICE if they are under attack from illegal aliens,” Jennings said.
Jennings suggested the absence of arrests signals broader tolerance for illegal conduct.
“And you know what happens when people get away with crap like this? They will do it again. Other people will be inspired to do it,” he said.
He concluded by urging residents to demand accountability from city leadership.
“If I lived in Minneapolis, I would demand arrests,” Jennings said.
“I want people arrested for doing crap like this.”
