A new poll released on Thursday by Rasmussen Reports finds that a clear majority will be voting in person at their polling place in November. That is likely to frustrate Democrat plans to steal and lose mail-in ballots and also make their post-election legal challenge to a presidential loss almost inevitable. In fact 2016 losing virago Hillary Clinton this week counseled Joe Biden not to concede under any circumstances.

In the 2017 book “Shattered” by Jonathan Allen and Aime Parnes, the description of Clinton’s concession call to a victorious Donald Trump is so full of spiritually satisfying conservative schadenfreude (the passage can also serve as a Republican inebriant/mood enhancer) that it’s no wonder Clinton does want to give Trump an immediate second chance at humiliating a Democrat nominee.

Scott Rasmussen detailed the findings of the survey, “Six out of every 10 voters plan to cast their ballots at a polling place in November, while 33% plan to vote by mail. Just 7% are  undecided…The interest in going to polling stations to cast a ballot comes even as the COVID-19 pandemic continues its course throughout the country, though daily new cases in the U.S. have been declining steadily for over a month.

“By way of comparison, roughly 21% of votes were cast by mail in 2016. Thus, the polling data suggests a very significant increase in voting by mail. However, most will still vote in person.”

Rasmussen outlined that “most Republicans (77%) and Independents (56%) plan to vote in person. However, Democrats are evenly divided – 46% say in person and 46% by mail…Among Independent voters, 13% were unsure how they would vote, while  8% of Democrats and 2% of Republicans also expressed uncertainty…That could possibly suggest a very modest turnout advantage for the GOP. In normal times, those who are not sure how they will vote are somewhat less likely to vote. However, during the pandemic, this may also simply reflect a wait-and-see attitude…Another new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 26% say they are more likely to vote by absentee ballot, while another 12% think they’re likely to use some other kind of mail-in ballot.” As Rasmussen notes, the GOP could get a bump if this holds true. It’s gonna need it.
