For Flora Westbrooks, George Floyd is more than a symbol – he is a constant reminder of the riots that torched her salon back in May. With little savings, Westbrooks believed the promises by Democrats to help rebuild her business, but what she received was far from a helping hand. Both state and local officials decided to demolish her business, without notice, and then stick her with the $200,000 bill for labor.

Having served men, women, and children of all types over the past four decades, Flora’s Hair Designs has become a “pillar” in Minneapolis. Positioned on Broadway Avenue, Westbrook described her salon as a place where kids would come for a haircut and a free history lesson from several elders within the community. But thanks to Democrat Mayor Jacob Fry, those priceless lessons are now nothing more than a pile of rubble.

During an interview with Fox & Friends, Westbrooks recalled the emotional night her salon burned to the ground. While many aspects of that night continue to play in her mind, one subtle detail sticks out, she “didn’t see any police at all patrolling [her] area.” Westbrook went on to say, “I just feel like I’m alone and I’m sure other business owners feel the same as I do.”

In a statement released by city media relations manager Casper Hill, the salon was beyond repair and deemed a threat to the general public. There was no other option than to have the building torn down. Westbrooks laughed at the remarks seeing how officials cared little about public safety when looters destroyed the city.

Thanks to locals, news of Westbrooks’ tragedy circulated, and over $150,000 in donations was raised on her GoFundMe page. The money will be used to help rebuild what looters and Democrats stole from the local business owner.

As for Westbrooks, she appeared steadfast when talking about the future. “My plan is to rebuild my business. I built that business myself and I just want my business back. That’s all I want, to just get my life back. I want my life back.”
