As if to amplify the president’s point about cities under Democrat control, Chicago has recorded its deadliest September in 25 years. The president has said time and time again that the Democrat attitude towards law enforcement and their craven surrender to the mob has made many of America’s cities shooting galleries. Chicago and various other Democrat cities prove his contention on a regular basis. The weekend before last it was 51 people shot.

Fox News reports, “Authorities in Chicago recorded another bloody weekend that included at least three fatalities and 34 people shot, local reports said…CBS Chicago reported that the first homicide occurred at about 5:45 p.m. on Friday night that included a man, 35, and a 14-year-old girl. The pair was walking on a street when a vehicle pulled up and opened fire…Chicago recorded its deadliest September in over 25 years, WTTV.com reported.  Authorities reported 81 homicides last month, the report said. ‘This has been an unprecedented year in policing, as a global pandemic and civil unrest have converged to present law enforcement with a crisis on multiple fronts,’ David Brown, the police superintendent, said in a statement, according to the station. ‘And yet, our officers remain committed to improving public safety despite these challenges.’ ”

This should be an embarrassment to Democrat mayors in Chicago, Portland, Seattle, New York, and other cities where crime runs rampant. But the Democrats are shameless and continue to ridiculously call the president a fascist and warn of impending doom if Trump is reelected while their own cities are already subsumed in doom.

They have let mobs run wild, occupying parts of their cities unmolested. They have made scapegoats out of law enforcement officers, when those very same officers are the only force standing between the citizenry and total chaos. And they have embraced wacky and dangerous Marxist theories on law enforcement and the root causes of crime. Well, as George Will said, during his coherent period, about crime, “When I hear a sound downstairs at 3am, I don’t call the police and ask them to come over and address the root causes.”

This trend will sadly continue and get much worse if Joe Biden is elected president. Keep your powder dry.
