While majority of the Senate is Republican, that doesn’t mean that confirming Amy Coney Barrett will be any easier for President Trump or his party. There appears to be some rift inside the party as Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski has opposed President Trump and several of his policies. Now, in a turn of events, Murkowski says she will in fact vote for Barrett despite her stance on the President.

Having a chance to explain herself, Murkowski doesn’t shy away from the topic about her not liking the President. But unlike the Democrats, she doesn’t let it control her emotions. The Democrats yell and scream about horrible ideas like Court Packing and Filibustering. They don’t wait and think about what their actions may do to the generations to come.

Speaking on the floor, the Senator said, “The timing of this confirmation that we have before us will serve to reinforce the public perception about political influence on the court. I have no doubt about her capability to do the job and to do it well.”

What does that mean exactly? It means that being a judge isn’t about being a Democrat or a Republican, it’s about doing the right thing and protecting the freedoms of America. Since the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Democrats have been in arms about not nominating a judge until after the election. President Trump had other plans in mind and since it was his idea – the Democrats hated it.

But no matter what the Democrats do or think, President Trump moved forward with his nomination and have drawn criticism for doing it at the tail end of an election. That is where true leadership is born. Just like the Senator of Alaska, it isn’t about being right and winning, it is about the right person for the job and Barrett is an exceptional candidate to add to the Supreme Court.

With the election just around the corner, the Republicans are banding together to help give President Trump the final support he needs to be re-elected. At the same time, the Democrats continue to cry foul about the Supreme Court and hope another scandal about the Bidens won’t come to light.
