As more and more time passes, Americans are beginning to understand the real dangers around COVID-19. The hysteria that has gripped the nation over the last months is fading away as even former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson praised President Trump for his words to America about not letting COVID dominate their lives.

Appearing on Tucker Carlson tonight, Berenson wasn’t expecting to have so many good words to say about Trump. Yet after being released from Walter Reed, the president made a video speech urging Americans to not let the virus take over their lives. He said, “Don’t let it dominate you. Don’t be afraid of it. You’re gonna beat it … don’t let it take over your lives. Don’t let that happen. We have the greatest country in the world.”

Not only critical of the president, but Berenson has also been an outspoken voice against the mandatory lockdowns that have swept the country. For the reporter, he doesn’t believe there is enough information regarding the virus to make mandatory mandates. He told Carlson we have, “gone crazy, and we have sacrificed our kids, and we have sacrificed society, and Donald Trump walked out of that hospital today and said what needed to be said. We have to stop being so afraid of this.”

Berenson went on to praise the President, telling Carlson “That might be the most presidential thing this president has ever said. He’s not actually saying, ‘Don’t be afraid of COVID’; he’s saying, ‘Don’t be afraid of one another,’ OK? Because this is a respiratory virus. It spreads between people. And the only way to really make it go away permanently is to lock us all away permanently — and that can’t happen. That is not compatible with life.”

Not only commending the president but Berenson also took time out of his interview to discuss the complete lack of leadership in the former VP Joe Biden. When talking about the two, Berenson said, “People can vote for Joe Biden or Donald Trump for all kinds of reasons, but Joe Biden has barely gotten out of his house it feels like in the last six months, and Donald Trump has lived, OK? And he took a chance. He rolled the dice, and he got caught. He actually did get the coronavirus — but guess what? It’s not that dangerous, and it looks like he’s gonna be fine, even though he’s a 74-year-old man who’s mildly overweight. So that’s the lesson we should take here: We need to live.”

While it isn’t always the best course of action to take advice from a Democrat, what Berenson is saying is correct. This is not a third world country, this is America. The place of the first manned flight and the first man to walk on the moon. For Berenson and many others, they wonder “What has happened to us that this rather dismal virus has scared everyone to death?”
