If you watched election night coverage on Fox News Channel you saw a debacle. The confident FNC of several years ago was reduced to a confused shambling specter of its former self.

Embedded with Democrat spin doctors and not able to make up its mind on data, when they did decide on something they got it wrong. The few remaining conservatives in their news division, men like Brit Hume, are overshadowed by toadies like Chris Wallace. So, conservatives must move on. But, to where?

The obvious answer is Newsmax. They’re on the scene and up and running. They are pros and have a good look to them. But do they have the capital to play with the big boys in scope and reach? Not yet.

Sinclair and Salem have a shot at greatness now and both have toyed with going big before. Will they finally pull the trigger? But, they all must be looking at the current media environment as an opportunity, as millions of conservatives are now suspicious of Fox News Channel, but have nowhere to go.

Speaking of which, why has this happened? Why did Fox News abandon its base without having another audience to fall back into? The Left hates it and will not come over soon, if at all. So they traded a loyal audience for a potential one who hates its guts now. Why?

Two reasons. First, generational change. Old Rupert Murdock is out. He was a solid conservative. His son James has taken over, after they sold off a lot of the company. James and his family are limousine leftists. Thus, the word went down from on high to get with the program. Its been happening for awhile. Second, they want White House access. They didn’t want to be the outsiders anymore they were during the Obama administration. They want the exclusive interviews, the occasional scoop on their competitors. Of course, those scoops will be hand fed to them by the potential Biden administration in exchange for sycophantic coverage. Price of doing business, they think. Though if Trump somehow pulls this off and is in the Oval Office for another four years, they are going to be in the doghouse forever.
