Since the first case of COVID-19 was announced, Americans have been left to fend on their own, especially the small business owner. As the Democrats put more and more lockdowns and restrictions on the American people, local businesses, AKA the middle class, is drowning in bills and debt. Growing tired of it like most patriots is none other than Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy. Knowing that the government has become a lost cause, Portnoy is taking matters into his own hands.

Gaining a massive following for his pizza reviews, nobody has known the effects COVID-19 has had on local businesses more than Barstool sports. The whole idea is surrounded by local pizza in your favorite towns. But thanks to the Democrats, the days of homemade pizza may be coming to an end thanks to their fear and paranoia.

As Portnoy puts it, He’s putting his money where his mouth is as he donated $500,000 of his own money to the Barstool Fund. The fund was set up to help struggling businesses stay afloat during a pandemic. Portnoy did admit that his plan has gaps in it, “Is it the best plan? No. The best plan is the government getting off their ass and issuing relief, billions of dollars to these small business owners who are losing their livelihoods. That’s the solution. That’s the only solution really, but barring that, we’re going to do whatever we can.”

As for the recent move to ban indoor dining, Portnoy didn’t shy away with his blunt comments, “How do you expect these people to survive? How are restaurants going to survive? They’re already on their last legs, and you’re pulling the plug on them. And nobody seems to care in the government—or at least they’re not doing anything acting like they care.”

The first winner of the Barstool Fund was the owner of Borrelli’s in Long Island. The name might sound familiar to Barstool fans because the owner’s son, Frankie, is Portnoy’s cameraman. The owner was shocked and surprised by the gesture, saying – “Dave, I really want to thank you for starting this fund. You don’t know what it means to us. My staff, they have mortgages, families. You don’t know how many people you are helping.”
