Continuing with the hypocrisy that is the Democratic party, a Chicago lawmaker was found guilty of breaking COVID-19 regulations when he let diners sit outside of his restaurant and enjoy a meal. Since the coronavirus, America has been under a lockdown, trying to fight the virus that has crippled the economy, yet the Democrats treat it like a vacation, parading around the streets and even going to get the occasional Pelosi haircut.

The lawmaker in question is Tom Tunney, who was the first openly gay Alderman to be elected in Chicago in 2003. While being questioned about breaking the COVID-19 rules, Tunney claimed that the guests were made to adhere to the local guidelines enforced by his government. Still, Tunney didn’t apologize for the incident as he called it an “error in judgment.”

Discussing the incident, Tunney said in a statement, “On a sporadic basis, we have allowed a very limited number of our regular diners to eat inside the restaurant while observing social distancing and mask-wearing rules. This was [an] error in judgment and won’t happen again.”

Despite being owned by a public official, Mayor Lightfoot called for an investigation into the Ann Sather restaurant and said, “Our COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions apply to every single individual and establishment in Chicago so that we can further ensure the health and safety of our residents.” She would go on to add, “Any business found in violation of these guidelines has been and will be held fully accountable. No exceptions.”

While it appears that Lori Lightfoot is finally taking a stand against her own party, she didn’t go into details about what the punishment would be. In New York, a restaurant owner was arrested for labeling his business an “autonomous zone”, but Tunney remains free to runs his business however he seems fit.

As for the restaurant and where it stands now, on Monday, a worker at the restaurant told reporters that they had stopped seating customers but were still taking orders. When asked about dining in, the hostess said, “That ended yesterday. We were seating some people, but somebody ratted us out.”
