College was designed to be a place of higher learning. A place where young adults could go to get a proper education and explore the roads of being an adult. But thanks to the PC culture that has latched itself onto modern society, colleges have been taken hostage, forced to implement outrageous rules that move education backward instead of forward.

One of those universities that have been taken hostage is the University of Michigan. The people behind the takeover is none other than the Words Matter Task Force. According to the so-called task force, certain words could be found offensive to different races of people. While most Americans and people, in general, know how not to offend somebody – The Words Matter Task Force has taken it upon themselves to teach people about new words that may be offensive like… picnic and brown bag?

That’s right. The days of taking your main squeeze out to the local hot spot for a quick picnic might not be so hip as it once was. Created by the Information and Technology Services (ITS), the Words Matter Task Force was designed to weed out language that was racist or inclusive to certain people. ITS hopes the software will help build a better service for people’s needs.

On top of words like picnic, ITS also found that the software flagged words like, “Crazy”, “blacklist”, “handicapped”, “privileged account”, and the all-time classic – “dummy.”

The Words Matter Task Force released a 10-page document saying the software had, “evaluated the terms and language conventions that may hinder effective communication, harm morale, and deliberately or inadvertently exclude people from feeling accepted to foment a healthy and inclusive culture.”

While trying to make a better tomorrow, the University of Michigan might want to take a quick history lesson before they hand over their entire college to the PC culture and a computer program. According to Dr. David Pilgrim, “The word picnic derives from the 17th-century French word ‘pique-nique,’ a term used to describe a social gathering in which attendees each contributed with a portion of food or another useful item.”

There you have it, not once in the history of the language was picnic every used to describe or demean a person. Again, this is nothing more than a push from the PC culture to establish political dominance just as the Black Lives Matter movement did in the 2020 election.
