When strict constitutionalists like Ben Sasse are in virtual agreement with Nancy Pelosi, when Chuck Schumer and Dan Crenshaw concur, when Tom Cotton and AOC see eye to eye here, you know there is a national consensus and it is against the current individual who serves as chief executive.

Why has this happened? The facts speak for themselves. Four years ago the Republican Party had the House, Senate, and the White House. After four years of Trump we’ve lost all three. Those of us, including me, who said we were only interested in results and didn’t care about the president’s personality should ponder that.

But his real issues began right after election day. The con job on his own supporters, telling them he would overcome the tally and remain president anyway was maybe the worst purely political thing he did. However, his worst move was the Wednesday speech and its aftermath, which he directly brought on. His ego blazing, his fuhrer complex alight, his vicious petulance unbound, he sent the worst faction of his supporters on a mission of blood and mayhem.
