As if President Biden didn’t already have enough on his plate with COVID-19, a southern border crisis, and a dwindling economy, he can now add Vladimir Putin to his growing list of concerns. There is a reason the people behind Biden have kept him quiet over the past several months, he can’t open his mouth without mistaking Kamala Harris as President or forgetting just who he is talking to. Now, the President might have kickstarted an international incident due to his recent comments about the Russian President.

In the highly anticipated interview with George Stephanopoulos, Biden boasted about his meeting with Putin and said, “I said, I looked in your eyes and I don’t think you have a soul. He looked back at me and said, ‘we understand each other.'”

It should be noted that President Biden has a well-documented history when it comes to embellishing stories. He once recanted a story about being arrested in South Africa, which was found to be partly fabricated. And let’s not forget his harrowing stories of marching for civil rights, because there is no one that has done more for the black community than Joe Biden.

But no matter if the story was true or false, the world heard what Biden said and it didn’t take long for Russia to answer. First, they contacted their ambassador and informed them that they were reconsidering their relations with the United States, saying it was “under threat of collapse.” And then, if that wasn’t enough, the man himself decided to make a statement.

Coming from Putin, he not only wished President Biden “good health” but also challenged him to a live debate. He said, “I want to propose to President Biden to continue our discussion, but on the condition that we do it basically live, as it’s called. Without any delays and directly in an open, direct discussion.”

Seeing it as an opportunity for not just Russian and the United States, but the whole world, Putin didn’t have to wait long for a response. According to the White House, Biden is currently too “busy” to entertain the idea of a live debate with Putin. But that shouldn’t be a surprise since he has yet to even talk to his own country.
