A normal Sunday political talk show appearance on CNN went horribly awry for the network, as a usually reliable ideological ally went rogue on CNN and spanked them in front of the entire country. The Washington Post’s Erik Wemple bailed on the beleaguered basic cable channel over the Cuomo brothers and Fredo Cuomo’s ever increasing scandals as governor of New York.

This was not an off the cuff move by the WaPo media guru. Not only does this signal further trouble for Cuomo, as the Post is leaving him out to dry, but this deliberate attack on CNN right to their faces does not say a lot for leftist solidarity right now.

FNC: “A guest appearance on CNN quickly backfired for the network and its left-wing media pundit as both continue facing a credibility crisis. The Washington Post’s media critic Erik Wemple turned the tables during a Sunday morning appearance on CNN’s ‘Reliable Sources’ to criticize the liberal network over Chris Cuomo’s fawning media coverage of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.”

“I would be remiss, Brian, if I didn’t mention CNN’s own huge media story here with Chris Cuomo,” Wemple told host Brian Stelter.

Wemple told Stelter that the brothers’ “wonderful love-a-thon interviews,” and subsequent on-air silence represents a “major black eye for this network.”

“They’ve suspended the conflict of interest rule for Chris Cuomo for those interviews, yet all of a sudden they’ve enforced it again now that Andrew Cuomo is in the midst of a historic scandal in the Albany statehouse,” he said. Truer words never spoken.

CNN has been a port side mouthpiece for some time. But it’s only been over the last several years that it’s become truly Orwellian. Their hatred of Trump fashioned them into hysterics, becoming the 24/7 anti-Trump platform. But it went farther than that. They not only editorialized the news division, but fabricated facts to fit their hard left political agenda.

Now they’ve taken one of the biggest gubernatorial scandals in American history and have thrown it down the Orwellian memory hole. To CNN, it simply doesn’t exist. That’s why Wemple’s Sunday thrashing of them was so interesting. It may be the first time on the network somebody has told the truth on any aspect of the Cuomo scandals.
