It has become the norm within the Biden Administration to attack any progress made by former President Donald Trump. From rolling back the tight grip that Trump held at the border to taking credit for the vaccine, Biden has continued to attack the legacy of his once opponent. So, it should come as no surprise that while Biden has more than enough on his plate, he is adding the abortion debate into the mix by temporarily allowing women access to the procedure via mail.

During the Trump presidency, women were still allowed to have an abortion using the abortion-inducing drug called Mifepristone but had to have it administered by a health professional. Now that Biden is in office, his administration believes that women seeking an abortion shouldn’t need to seek a health professional. Instead, they hope to give women easier access by allowing the pills to be mailed directly to them.

While it is yet another brazen attack on Trump, Biden is trying to steer clear of the Republican powerhouse by citing the coronavirus. According to the Democrats, it would be too dangerous for women to travel for the drug and could easily become susceptible to COVID-19.

Shortly after the new policy was announced. March for Life, a pro-life organization, released a statement saying, “With this action, the Biden administration has made it clear that it will prioritize abortion over women’s safety. Allowing unsupervised chemical abortions via telemedicine, without requiring timely access to medical care, will put women in grave danger. Data released in 2018 by the FDA shows thousands of adverse events caused by abortion pills, including 768 hospitalizations and 24 deaths since 2000. Chemical abortions should have more medical oversight not less.”

It should also be noted that Biden might appear to be all steam ahead with it comes to the rights of women, but he wasn’t always for abortion. Known for being a lifetime Catholic, Biden stood against abortions and even supported the 1980 Hyde Amendment which denied taxpayer dollars to be spent on the surgery. It was only when Biden ran for President in 2020 that he decided to take a different stance.
