Okay, let’s get it out of the way. Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner is a guy for the simple reason you cannot change your chromosomes. He may live as he wishes, as a 1956 Buick if he so desires. But that does not change the fact he is a man. For people have every right to personal definition. But they do not have the right to make others go along with their fantasies.

Jenner is a Republican and is running for governor in the recall election all but certain to happen later this year. He is no doubt an interesting member of the GOP and before we snicker at his candidacy, ok-too late for me, we should hear what he proposes for the state. And there is a precedent.

In 2003, like Jenner totally unqualified except for his celebrity status, film star Arnold Schwarzenegger ran for California governor as a Republican, also in a recall election, and won. He wasn’t the worst governor the state had ever had. As we have recently noted in other articles about LeBron James and Matthew McConaughey, Americans are celeb crazy and that gives sports, entertainment, and other pop culture creatures a lofty perch they would not otherwise occupy. It’s a sad commentary on Americans and on humanity as a whole.

Jenner has a bit of an advantage over other Republicans, as those who pretend to be another gender are sacred cows to the Democrats. Thus, the minute they attack him he can claim transphobia, chlamydia, or whatever the term is these days when you hide behind a PC status to deflect criticism.

It is California and the very fact of a potential Republican governor would be naturally better than a Democrat governor, no matter the gender bending or intense public relations stunt because other members of his family had cashed in on their celebrity much more lucratively than he had.

FNC: “Jenner, a Republican, filed paperwork to seek the governorship and has hired several well-known Republican operatives to guide her burgeoning campaign. Jenner has put together a team of prominent Republican operatives to advise the campaign, including 2016 and 2020 Trump presidential campaign pollster Tony Fabrizio and Steven Cheung, a Trump White House and reelection campaign aide who worked on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s successful 2003 gubernatorial recall election victory. Along with her announcement, Jenner launched a website. In a statement on the website, she took aim at the Democrats’ one-party lock on the deep blue state for the past decade.”

“California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality,” Jenner wrote. “But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.” So, if he can get elected, what the hell. He’s gotta be better than present Ken doll governor Gavin Newsom.
