Prince Philip, the 99 year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth, tragically passed away on Friday morning at Windsor Castle. Now, his grandson Prince Harry and granddaughter-in-law Meghan Markle have broken their silence after his death.

Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Foundation website has temporarily been taken down and replaced with a tribute message for Philip.

“In Loving Memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, 1921-2021,” the dedication reads. “Thank you for your service…you will be greatly missed.”

People Magazine reported that it is believed that Harry will be returning to the United Kingdom for the first time since stepping down as a senior royal last year. It is unclear if Meghan will be joining him, as she is currently pregnant with their unborn daughter, which would make traveling to the United Kingdom from California difficult.

Harry was known to be very close to Philip, who played a crucial role in helping his grandson get over the death of his mother, the late Princess Diana, in 1997.

“A member of the Balmoral staff noted that Prince Philip, who had effectively lost his own mother at the age of ten when she was committed for three years to an asylum in Switzerland, was brilliantly effective with his grandsons, offering them gruff tenderness and outdoor activities like stalking and hiking to tire them out,” author Tina Brown wrote in “The Diana Chronicles.”

Harry had most recently talked about Philip two months ago, when he was asked by late night host James Corden if Philip and the Queen know how to use Zoom.

“Yes, both my grandparents do,” Harry replied.

“They have Zoomed a few times, they have seen [my son] Archie running around. But my grandfather, instead of pressing ‘Leave Meeting,’ he just goes,” he added as he pretended to close his laptop.

“I am like ‘bye,’ as I’m pressing,” Harry said as he imitated Philip closing his laptop.

Philip’s death was announced by the palace on Friday morning.

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” the palace said. “His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”
