Following 10-days of conflict between both Israel and Palestine, President Biden has stumbled back and forth as to which side he stands with. For a moment, Biden sided with Israel and their right to defend themselves, but that narrative was challenged when representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib flooded Twitter with pro-Palestinian propaganda. And if that wasn’t enough, Tlaib even confronted Biden on the runway tarmac about his decision to approve a $735 million arms sale to Israel.

With the White House taking a “quiet approach” on the ongoing conflict, Democrats are starting to argue among themselves as to which side Biden should support. And as for the massive arms deal, AOC, with the help of Tlaib and Rep. Mark Pocan, introduced a resolution on Wednesday that would force Biden to block the White House-approved deal. More importantly, AOC hopes to block the sale of Joint Direct Attack Munitions, which is a tail kit that converts bombs into guided missiles. Often referred to as JDAMS, the missiles have been the primary use of force between both Israel and Palestine.

As per usual, AOC followed the resolution by jumping on Twitter and releasing a scathing tweet about how America has contributed to millions of deaths. She said, “The United States should not be rubber-stamping weapons sales to the Israeli government as they deploy our resources to target international media outlets, schools, hospitals, humanitarian missions and civilian sites for bombing. We have a responsibility to protect human rights.”

AOC wasn’t the only one to speak up as Tlaib released a statement attacking the White House for approving an arms deal during the conflict. “Approving this sale now, while failing to even try to use it as leverage for a ceasefire, sends a clear message to the world – the U.S. is not interested in peace, and does not care about the human rights and lives of Palestinians. You cannot claim to support human rights and peace on Earth and continue to back the extremist Netanyahu regime. It’s that simple.”

Not knowing which side to back, President Biden opted to do absolutely nothing and take a trip to Michigan to test drive Ford’s newest electric truck. And while the media followed him, the President was firm when it came to not answering a single question about Israel. So much so that he even threatened to run a reporter over if she mentioned Israel.
