Since the pandemic, the Democrats have seized the virus and turned it into a political weapon aimed at stripping Americans of their freedoms. They might claim to have the country’s best interest in mind, but time and time again the Democrats have been caught violating their own COVID-19 mandates. It started with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi not wearing a mask at the height of the pandemic, and now another key Democrat has been photographed breaking regulations she put in place. 

Over the weekend, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer decided to have dinner with some close friends. While there is nothing against a nice meal, Whitmer was actually photographed eating with more people than her new restrictions allow.

A week before she was caught breaking her own rule, Whitmer announced her newly updated COVID-19 guidelines. In the restrictions, people are prohibited from gathering in parties of six or more while indoors. This also strangely included people who “intermingle”. 

In her original statement, Whitmer said, “Gatherings are prohibited at food service establishments, whether indoor or outdoor, unless: Consumption of food or beverages is permitted only in a designated dining area where patrons are seated, groups of patrons are separated by at least 6 feet, no more than 6 patrons are seated together (at a table, booth, or group of fixed seats), and groups of patrons do not intermingle.” 

With the picture circulating online and Whitmer caught red-handed, her office was quick to release a statement. It said, “Throughout the pandemic, I’ve been committed to following public health protocols. Yesterday, I went with friends to a local restaurant. As more people arrived, the tables were pushed together. Because we were all vaccinated, we didn’t stop to think about it. In retrospect, I should have thought about it. I am human. I made a mistake, and I apologize.”

While Whitmer and her team want people to believe it was merely a mistake, it should be noted this isn’t the first time the governor has been caught violating COVID-19 regulations. Earlier this year, Whitmer faced backlash when she blamed a trip to Florida on an outbreak in her state. Not to mention, Whitmer was also hit with an ethics complaint over using a private jet to travel. 

Although the Democrats act like they are aggressively fighting the virus, the evidence shows they are using the pandemic to further divide the nation while parading around as if COVID never happened.
