While the Democrats might hold Barack Obama in high regard, it appears the former President is slowly pulling away from the liberal party. Since leaving the White House, Obama has opted to live a somewhat quiet lifestyle, only reemerging for the occasional interview. But in an upcoming book written about the Democrats’ efforts to defeat Trump, author Edward-Isaac Dovere not only gives a blunt look into the Obama presidency but his thoughts on Joe Biden running for President.

Available for purchase on Tuesday, Dovere’s book goes into detail about the 2020 Democratic presidential race and how they were able to “regain” the White House. But that doesn’t mean it’s a puff piece for the Democrats. On the contrary, Dovere apparently attacks Obama for how he impacted the Democratic party and even calls him a “parasite” that did nothing but drain the DNC.

Although Obama is often praised for being the first black President, when it came to doing the job – he often failed. During his eight years as President, his party lost 63 House seats, 11 senators, 13 governors, and a staggering 947 legislative seats. Not to mention, the Democrats accrued $2.4 million in debt thanks to the Obama reelection campaign in 2012.

As for Joe Biden, Dovere writes that Barack Obama was cautious of his then Vice President taking the chance of winning the White House. Apparently, the sudden death of Biden’s son Beau crippled the VP and Obama knew it. Dovere writes, ‘Obama, for his part, went from assuring his aides not to worry, that his vice president was just working out his grief at his son’s death by entertaining the fantasy of running for president, to becoming worried that Biden was actually getting lost in his fantasy’.

And that is exactly what Biden did. By September, Obama was sending his aides ‘to go and meet with Biden to jolt some sense into him, to stop him from getting himself hurt and embarrassing Obama as he did so’.

While Obama eventually showed his support for Biden becoming President, he also gave a stark warning as he told Dovere, ‘The chariot could turn back into a pumpkin at any point’.
