Joe Biden is trying to look like he wants to satisfy both sides on the gun control issue. He talks Second Amendment rights on occasion, but then supports anti-gun legislation. It’s the Potomac Two-Step, say one thing but do another.

The gun control fanatics are upset with his words here and there and Second Amendment supporters aren’t fooled by his hypocrisy. He’s attempting to be middle of the roadkill, at least rhetorically. That does not bode well for Democrat chances in 2022. Guns, crime, energy, and the border will nail Biden and his pals in the midterms. They deserve it.

President Biden keeps saying (I think incorrectly) there has been gun control from the beginning of our country. He says some people and some weapons have always been banned and implies these were federal laws. Can anyone post a copy of those gun bans? #CircleBack?

The president also risks alienating progressives wary that his tactics will undercut their push for law enforcement reform, deepening party divisions at a time when Democratic control of Congress is in jeopardy. While many progressive Democrats have called for sweeping budget cuts for police, Biden’s plan encourages cities to use COVID-19 relief funds to hire more officers, among other measures.”

Whit Ayers, a Republican political consultant, opines, “One of the most potent criticisms over the last 40 years of Democrats is that they’re soft on crime and reluctant to crack down on crime. This surge and the forces on the far-left talking about defunding the police feed into the suspicious that Democrats are simply not serious about combating crime…Reasonable gun control measures like background checks could conceivably ward off some of the mass shootings we’ve experienced recently, but they will do nothing to thwart the crime wave plaguing our cities in recent months. That surge in crime is a result of demonizing the police in the wake of the George Floyd killing.”
