Although the Democrats and Biden Administration have abandoned the border, Republican states aren’t so eager to watch America’s border fall. Answering the call from Texas Governor Greg Abbott to help border agents handle the influx of immigrants, numerous states have sent both police officers and National Guard troops. But according to a national Latino group, the states sending troops to help the Southern Border are somehow part larger plot to plan another insurrection.

Thanks to the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, Governors all over the country are given the power to send aid whenever another state is in dire need. Seeing how both Texas and Arizona are combating record numbers of illegal immigrants hoping to cross the border, several states have already answered the call. But as mentioned above, the League of United Latin American Citizens believes the help is nothing more than a cover-up by a racist militia.

Denouncing the efforts at the border, the organization also wrote a letter to President Biden urging him to stop states like South Dakota, Ohio, and Florida from sending help. According to LULAC president, Domingo Garcia, “We told the President in no uncertain terms, this is an insurrection by recalcitrant and rebellious states that must be stopped. This unilateral action by governors hijacks the Emergency Assistance Management Compact (EMAC) and involves our armed forces in a ‘pay for hire’ scheme, funded in part by private donations.”

And Garcia didn’t stop there as he suggested former President Donald Trump was at the head of it all.“Texas Governor Greg Abbott and former President Trump just days ago, in their so-called ‘visit’ to the border, are still fomenting dangerous racial hatred targeting Latinos including refugees, asylum seekers, even U.S. citizens who live in the border region.”

Sadly, Garcia wasn’t the only one to share these claims as the director of LULAC in Texas, Rodolfo Rosales, Jr., expanded on the theory. “We are being invaded by governors of the defeated confederacy to arm the border against brown women and children escaping political persecution, hunger, and death.”

It should be noted that there is not a single shred of evidence to back up their claims. Not to mention, Rosales’s theory about the confederate army is completely false. Out of all the states helping Texas and Arizona, only Florida was part of the Confederate States of America. Iowa, Nebraska, and Ohio fought for the Union. As for South Dakota, it was actually part of the Dakota Territory during the time.
