Even with the constant attacks and countless lawsuits the left has hurled at him, former President Donald Trump is still gaining ground on the political platform. In the last two weeks, Trump not only announced that he would be suing big tech for censoring him and numerous conservatives around the country, but he also won the straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference over the weekend. Making him the number one contender for the 2024 GOP Presidential bid, it’s safe to say big tech isn’t just losing their battle against Trump, they are pretty upset about it.

Knowing it is only a matter of time before Trump’s bans are lifted, YouTube tried to secretly delete a video of Trump from the American Conservative Union’s account. And that’s not all, the tech giant also prevented the group’s channel from streaming Trump’s speech at CPAC on Sunday.

Releasing a statement, Chairman for the ACU, Matt Schlapp, said Youtube blocked them from streaming and even froze their account for seven days. The video in question that led to the ban was when Trump announced his lawsuit against Big Tech. And since the ACU runs CPAC, many conservatives were left in the dark as to where to watch Trump’s speech.

“It is clear that YouTube censored CPAC because we stood with former President Donald Trump on his lawsuit against Big Tech. This is yet another example of Big Tech censoring content with which they disagree in order to promote the political positions they favor,” Schlapp said.

According to a note from YouTube, the video of Trump was taken down due to medical information? The group couldn’t help but laugh at YouTube’s reasoning, even saying, “ACU believes YouTube was offended by sound medical research conducted by the Smith Center for Infectious Diseases & Urban Health and Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Former President Donald Trump referenced the study in the video that YouTube removed, saying, ‘doctors and medical groups have been barred from these platforms for posting about therapeutics such as hydroxychloroquine … now, most recent studies say [the drug is] effective in combating the virus.’”

In the end, ACU slammed big tech for focusing more on “the political beliefs of Google executives … over the free speech rights of Google users.”
