After a Sunday that saw the US and its allies lose the almost twenty year war, now, just as in Saigon in 1975, the Afghanistan action has switched to the airlift operation, as thousands try to flee or be rounded up by the revenge filled Taliban. These are the latest updates:

1) The US embassy flag has been lowered and flown out of Kabul. Sensitive documents at the embassy have been destroyed. The bugout is almost complete. It’s a high skedaddle with our tail between our legs.

2) All US evacuation flights out of Afghanistan have been suspended. American officials say the runway at Kabul International Airport is “not secure” after hundreds of Afghans “breached” the airport walls and covered the runway. Shots have been fired by American troops at the airport to warn refugees off the runway, to no avail. Refugees, fleeing for their lives, have reportedly clung to the bottom of planes taking off. Some have fallen off planes in the air, plunging to their death. Three people were killed by gunfire outside of the main terminal building. If anyone tells us this is not Saigon, or worse, they are lying to you.

3) Documents obtained by press show DoD plans to relocate 30,000 Afghan refugees into the United States post haste. The bases for relocation include Fort McCoy in Wisconsin and Fort Bliss in Texas.

“The situation in Afghanistan may lead to DoS [Department of State] allowing Afghan SIV applicants to be moved to temporary housing locations while still being vetted for parolee status…We want to have the capacity to get up to several thousand immediately, and want to be prepared for the potential of tens of thousands. Bliss and McCoy have the capability right now – and what’s advantageous is with a little bit of work, they could increase their capacity in very short order.” Bliss and McCoy are also in states the Democrats want very much to turn and keep blue. Will the Democrats pull a number like they did in the 90s with Somali refugees, an action that led to the election of Ilhan Omar?

4) The Taliban has freed thousands of its men held prisoner at Bagram Airport. They will swell the terrorist ranks and be thirsty for revenge. Reports also indicate that in taking the country the Taliban committed thousands of rapes on a scale not seen since the Soviet sack of Berlin in 1945.
