Parents around the country have been bombarded over the last year with how their children will be raised while in school. At first, it was critical race theory, which taught that some people are born racist due to the color of their skin. Now, parents are battling as to whether their children should be required to wear masks while attending school. With each new week, it appears there is a new battle for the youth of this nation. This brings us to a school district in California that is investigating a teacher who urged her students to pledge allegiance to the gay pride flag.

As you can see in the video below, the teacher, Kristin Pitzen who works for the Newport Mesa School District in Orange County, talks about how there once was an American flag in the classroom but she took it down due to feeling uncomfortable.

“Okay, so during third period, we have announcements and they do the pledge of allegiance. I always tell my class, stand if you feel like it, don’t stand if you feel like it, say the words if you want, you don’t have to say the words. Except for the fact that my room does not have a flag. It used to be there,” she points to the wall behind her, adding, ​​“But I took it down during Covid because it made me uncomfortable, and I packed it away and I don’t know where and I haven’t found it yet.”

While the teacher might not have an American flag, she continues with her video, adding, “In the meantime, I tell this kid, ‘We do have a flag in the class that you can pledge your allegiance to,’ and he like, looks around and he goes, ‘Oh, that one?’” That is when the teacher points to the pride flag.

With the video quickly going viral, many, including Fox News, reached out to the Newport Mesa School District for details behind the video. Other than saying the matter is being investigated, the school district tweeted, “A personal post by a teacher about the American flag is causing alarm/concern. Respecting our flag is a value we instill in students and is an expectation of our staff. We take this matter with extreme seriousness and are investigating and addressing it.”
