FNC: “Fox News contributor Lara Trump blasted the New York Times for softening a headline initially critical of President Biden for talking about his late son Beau when meeting with the families of troops killed in Afghanistan, noting on ‘Fox & Friends Weekend’ that her father-in-law, former President Trump, would not have enjoyed the same edit.

The New York Times reportedly changed a headline on Saturday about criticism President Biden has received for bringing up his grief over his late son Beau with some of the families of the 13 fallen U.S. service members from the Kabul terror attack last month.

The original headline: ‘Biden, Still Grieving His Son, Finds That Not Everyone Wants to Hear About It,’ prompted a backlash on Twitter from Biden supporters. Within hours, the Times changed the story’s headline to: ‘In Invoking Beau, Biden Broaches a Loss That’s Guided His Presidency.’ ”

Wow, what a-holes.

Mark Schmitz, the father of Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, 20, who was killed in the bombing, told The Times, referring to Biden’s conduct, “I respect anybody that lost somebody, but it wasn’t an appropriate time.”

Lara Trump commented on the media angle, “I can think of a lot of headlines, a lot of stories…that were flat out wrong, reported by not just the New York Times but a slew of media outlets across America. When did they ever change those for Donald Trump? When did they ever change those for our family? I’ll answer that for you: they never did. It is such a double standard that exists. And gosh, it makes you wonder, if they actually did report the truth…what a different situation might we be in now as a country.”‘

She’s right. The Times caved under left wing pressure and changed the story to reflect the tender sentiments of the left. Have they ever given anybody on the right the same consideration? Not anytime recently and especially not when it came to Donald Trump.
