When it comes to America, patriotism has always been a point of pride in every citizen. At least until the Democrats turned it into a calling card for fascism. Now, any person who sports an American flag shirt, hat, or swimsuit must be a radical conservative hellbent on overthrowing the government. Again, this is the narrative being promoted by the liberal media. And as if slowly chipping away at the fabric of America, the New York Times recently posted an opinion piece where they asked several artists to redesign an iconic symbol – the American flag.

In the article, the Times wrote, “The American flag is a potent piece of national iconography, but its design shifted frequently until the early 1900s. What if it were redesigned today? We asked artists and graphic designers to try. The flags they came up with reflect a mix of approaches. Some are functional designs, others artistic renderings; some represent America as it could be, others how the artist sees the country now.”

Taking a look at one of the designs, Andrew Kuo, which is featured below, decided to use his flag to represent several different challenges the country is facing. Split into four even sections, the yellow stands for “repairing systemic racism”, blue is for “untapped potential”, green is for “taking care of the planet”, red for “our past”, and white for “our future”. The flag doesn’t stop there as the remaining square has red and white stripes. According to the artists, this stands for “fear, forgiveness, anger, joy, and pride.”

Kuo explained his design by saying, “I’ve designed a flag that acknowledges the emotions that informed where our country has been and the spirit of where it may go, with joy and forgiveness as possibilities. We can’t ignore how we got here, but maybe we can move toward a different, even better place.”

Another design was done by Na Kim which features a bland colorless concept. Kim said, “The colors of our flag are intended to stand for unity, valor and justice. The gray, monochrome flag represents America surrendering to its fall from power and loss of the ideals it once stood for. The American dream is being washed away.”

While the New York Times tried to reimagine the flag, many blasted the outlet for even considering such an idea. Breitbart News senior editor Rebecca Mansour could stop laughing, tweeting, “Congratulations to the @nytimes for writing the stupidest op-ed (if writing is the right word for this) of all time. (And this is quite a feat considering the vast landscape of stupidity coming from the @nytopinion page.) Bravo! You’ve outdone yourselves.”
