With the holidays around the corners, millions of families are making plans to get together and finally celebrate in a proper fashion. But before you go and book those flights to see that distant family, you should know that California Senator Dianne Feinstein introduced a bill on Wednesday that would require all passengers flying on domestic flights to show proof of vaccination or test negative for COVID-19.

This is just the latest attempt by the Democrats to push the vaccine on Americans who are still hesitant. As of now, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires all passengers flying on international flights to show proof that they either recovered from COVID-19 or tested negative for it. Even President Joe Biden intervened and mandated that all visitors into the U.S. not only show a negative COVID test but also have proof of vaccination. 

Speaking on the bill that would force all travelers to show proof of vaccination or test negative, Feinstein said, “We know that air travel during the 2020 holiday season contributed to last winter’s devastating COVID-19 surge. We simply cannot allow that to happen again.”

Making sure she made it about protecting the community, Feinstein added, “Ensuring that air travelers protect themselves and their destination communities from this disease is critical to prevent the next surge, particularly if we confront new, more virulent variants of COVID-19. This bill complements similar travel requirements already in place for all air passengers — including Americans — who fly to the United States from foreign countries. This includes flights from foreign countries with lower COVID-19 rates than many U.S. states.”

As if every Democrat is reading from the same script, Feinstein couldn’t finish her speech without bringing up the children. “It only makes sense that we also ensure the millions of airline passengers that crisscross our country aren’t contributing to further transmission, especially as young children remain ineligible to be vaccinated.”

And knowing people might not have heard her speech, Feinstein’s team was sure to tweet out the same message. “We can’t allow upcoming holiday air travel to contribute to another surge in COVID cases. Today I introduced legislation requiring passengers on domestic flights to be vaccinated, test negative, or be fully recovered from a previous COVID illness.”
