Just in time for Halloween, Hollywood recently released their new film in the franchise that has made Michael Myers a household name and horror icon. Over the years, the “Halloween” franchise has thrilled audiences and spooked kids who dared try to sneak into the movies. But while the new installment “Halloween Kills” might be hoping to cash in on the holiday, apparently the film involves a scene where Michael Myers kills a gay couple. And although Myers definitely doesn’t care, woke culture does as they labeled him homophobic. 

First reported by TMZ, the outlets said, “This is actually a thing … the latest iteration of the masked madman is being accused by some Twitter truthers of being homophobic for offing a same-sex couple in the new ‘Halloween Kills’ movie … which just came out about a week or so ago.”

 Already mentioned above, in the film, Myers kills dozens of people. Some even claim this is his highest death count yet. But while many might be fine watching teenagers be murdered, they find it incredibly hard when the victims are gay.

Taking to social media to unleash their anger on the fictional villain, one user said,  “HALLOWEEN KILLS WAS SO GOOD BUT WHY DID MICHAEL HAVE TO KILL THE ONE GAY COUPLE… MICHAEL MYERS IS HOMOPHOBIC CONFIRMED.”

Another user added, “Watched Halloween Kills last night and y’all horror gays lied to me I didn’t know Michael Myers was homophobic.”

But that’s not all as one user pointed out how all the iconic villains are going woke. “[T]he juxtaposition of michael myers killing a gay couple and chucky [the evil doll] talking about his genderfluid child in the same week is just insane[.]”

Knowing that some people are just poking fun, TMZ reported, “While many appreciated the representation, others appear to have been offended by these two guys being among the body count. There’ve also been a few articles and op-eds written on the matter — and despite most who acknowledge it as silly … some are pointing out ‘The Shape’ may, in fact, not be as progressive as some of his counterparts.”

As for the film’s star, Jamie Lee Curtis, she broke down the film and it was never once about killing gay people. She said it was “about rage, about a mob of angry people who don’t trust the government, who don’t trust the police, who don’t trust the authorities to get the job done. They’re going to do the job themselves.”
