Whether it’s Jill Biden, Ron Klain, or a cabal, the fact remins clear that Joe Biden does not control his own words and actions in the White House. It was clearly illustrated Thursday night that a bait and switch has been pulled on the American people.

FNC: “The White House clarified a number of statements President Biden made during a live town hall Thursday night, walking back his vow to call in the National Guard to aid the congested supply chain and his suggestion that the United States would defend Taiwan from a potential attack from China.

Clarifications came after the president, during a CNN town hall hosted by Anderson Cooper Thursday night, was asked if he would consider having National Guardsmen drive trucks to make up for the lack of truck drivers amid the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.”

“I had a timetable for, first of all, I want to get the ports up and running.” When asked on whether he would want to use state military forces to drive trucks, the president replied: “The answer is yes, if we can’t move to increase the number of truckers, which we’re in the process of doing.” The White House staff had to correct him. Which means they, not him, control the presidential pulpit and message.

They told press that they are “requesting the use of the national guard at the state level is under the purview of Governors…We are not actively pursuing the use of the national guard on a federal level.” Notice the use of the plural. Not “the president is not actively pursuing”, but “We are not…” One doubts it is unintentional.

Then on Taiwan Biden said he does “not want a Cold War with China…I just want to make China understand that we are not going to step back, we are not going to change any of our views.” And asked if the US would defend Taiwan in the event of an attack from Beijing? Biden replied: “Yes, we have a commitment to do that.”

The White House sought to contradict him on that promise of defense. Staff commented after Biden spoke. The U.S.  relationship with Taiwan is guided by the Taiwan Relations Act.” The Act says only we would provide supplies, not engage militarily. Staff added, we “will make available to Taiwan such defense articles and defense services in such quantity as may be necessary to enable Taiwan to maintain self-sufficient defense capabilities.” “Services” is a vague word. White House staff want it to remain such. Thus, who is exactly in charge in the Oval Office?
