Ignoring the political fact that the young don’t vote and older people vote in droves, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried to take on Democrat strategist Jim Carville on the subject of wokeness. Her asinine response only proved Carville’s point.

“How can news outlets even attribute words to me I didn’t say,” Ocasio-Cortez questioned in a tweet. Welcome to the club sweetheart. When the media spins, folds, and mutilates Republican words you don’t hear a word from AOC. Now, she’s incensed?

“I said there are limits to trying to mobilize a campaign with a 100% moderate strategy without mobilizing the base,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “Said nothing [about] ‘wokeness’ which is a term almost exclusively used by older people these days btw”. No it’s not. It’s used by the sentient, which excludes AOC.

She went on to say, “The average audience for people seriously using the word ‘woke’ in a 2021 political discussion are James Carville and Fox News pundits,” the congresswoman wrote on Twitter. “So that should tell you all you need to know.” But, she wasn’t finished.

“And before people disingenuously complain “woke” is denigrating to older people, it’s actually pundits like Carville using terms like “woke” to insult voters under 45 that’s denigrating. Don’t wonder why youth turnout falls when Dems talk about them like this. We need everyone.” Really? The youth vote has always disappointed Democrats. Has Carville always been in politics? Uh, no.

Carville actually said, “What went wrong is stupid wokeness. Don’t just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Washington. I mean this ‘defund the police’ lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln’s name off of schools, people see that. And it really has a suppressive effect on all across the country on Democrats. Some of these people need to go to a woke detox center or something…They’re expressing a language that people just don’t use, and there’s backlash and a frustration at that.” Bingo.
