Following the horrific attack during the Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin that left several dead and even more wounded, the First Lady, Jill Biden, decided to visit some of the children who had been severely injured that day. While visiting and acting friendly on Wednesday, it appeared that even the First Lady is part of the Biden administration as she was sure to take a moment to focus on the importance of getting the COVID-19 jab.

Visiting both an 11-year-old girl who is suffering from a traumatic brain injury and a 10-year-old girl who is recovering from broken bones, a broken pelvis, and brain injury, Biden touched on how parents are overwhelmed by the sense of “absolute terror” when a child is born, “because you know that this little fragile life is depending on you.” Biden added, “We do absolutely everything we can to protect our kids.”

While her remarks appeared to resonate with some, she quickly moved forward with how excited she was that parents could now get their children vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19. She even urged parents to make it a family event. “So make it a family event and get your booster as well. I promise. It’s easy to do.”

Appearing with Biden, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy was able to steer the conversation back to what led Biden there in the first place. “I know that so many in this room continue to feel the pain and the trauma that resulted from this act of violence. I know that you feel it as survivors and witnesses to this terrible act.” It should be mentioned that Murthy would also be sure to add the importance of getting the COVID-19 shot.

With Darrell Brooks Jr. driving his SUV through the parade, killing six people and wounding 60 more, the First Lady is the first person within the White House to visit the victims. Although three weeks after the incident, neither President Joe Biden nor his Vice President Kamala Harris have made efforts to visit the town.
