Wanting to have nothing more than an open conversation about COVID-19, podcaster Joe Rogan has come under intense criticism due to him speaking with Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Robert Malone. Both experts in their fields, the doctors deny the narrative being presented by the Biden administration that the COVID-19 drug is the best way to fight the virus. Nothing more than a simple conversation led legendary musician Neil Young to demand Spotify de-platform Rogan or he would pull his music. In the end, Young appeared to be a martyr for the progressive movement by taking his songs off the platform. But while Young is being praised, his history is full of homosexual slurs and misinformation about AIDS.

In 1985, Young was speaking with Melody Maker about Ronald Reagan’s gun policies when he stated, “You go to a supermarket and you see a faggot behind the f***in’ cash register, you don’t want him to handle your potatoes.”

The Rolling Stones, who were writing about the musician in 2013, noted, “Needless to say, Young almost certainly regrets that horrific statement and quickly moved away from right-wing politics. He wrote the furious anti-George H.W. Bush screed ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ in 1989 and was one of George W. Bush’s most vocal critics in the 2000s.”

While Young might have a questionable past and is currently attacking Rogan, the podcaster had nothing but good things to say about the musician. “First of all, I’m not mad at Neil Young, I’m a huge Neil Young fan. I’ve always been a Neil Young fan. When I was 19, I was a security guard at a place called Great Woods in Mansfield, Massachusetts. It’s an outdoor concert amphitheater. And Neil Young was playing there. And that was the last day I worked there, I quit during the Neil Young concert.”

After detailing how he quit during a Young concert, Rogan added, “That was my last day on the job. I don’t even think I collected my last check. So no hard feelings towards Neil Young. And definitely no hard feelings towards Joni Mitchell. I love her too. I love her music, ‘Chuck E.’s In Love’ is a great song.”
