Although the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommending that people continue to wear masks while inside, no matter if they have the COVID-19 jab or not, states like New Jersey, Nevada, Delaware, and New York have all decided to change the current mask mandates are do away with them altogether. While these states are heavily controlled by the Democrats, and some might see the move being against the Biden administration, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was sure to explain there was a difference between Governors getting rid of mask mandates and Republican Governor Ron DeSantis.

During the briefing, Psaki was asked, “We had another state today drop the indoor mask mandate as the CDC is confirming that their guidance is not changing. But these decisions that are being made at the local level… are out of step with the science. So, why are we not hearing the same messaging criticizing states that are, you know, making these moves like we heard previously with, for instance, Ron DeSantis?”

Psaki quickly distanced the Democratic party from the Florida Governor as she stated, “I would say there is a distinct difference between standing in the way, which Ron DeSantis did — or, Governor DeSantis, I’ll give him his full title — of teachers, school administrators and others taking steps to protect the students and their school communities. There’s a difference between standing in the way of it — threatening to pull back funding — and allowing for local school districts to make choices, which is what a number of these states are doing.”

The attack from the White House isn’t new to the Florida Governor as President Joe Biden accused DeSantis of “bullying” school officials over the mask mandate. Back in July, DeSantis signed an executive order banning all face masks in schools. He said it was to “empower parents to be able to make the best decisions they can for the well-being of their children.”
