Following a 5-4 vote on Monday, the Pennsylvania Norwin School Board decided to no longer require schools within the district to show at least 10 minutes of CNN during homeroom. Although shocking, for some time, students were subject to what is called CNN 10. It is described as “compact on-demand news broadcasts ideal for explanation seekers on the go or in the classroom”. But according to parents, the so-called unbiased network was caught numerous times suggesting students “visit our friends on CNN.com”.

After the vote was decided, a spokesperson released a statement saying, “On February 14, 2022 the Norwin School Board voted and approved the following: To remove watching TV during homeroom at the Middle School unless it is either student, teacher or administrator driven to allow students to socialize and interact with each other. It was further clarified that the board will allow teachers to use discretion and broadcast videos from all sources, including videos pertaining to patriotic holidays.”

It should be noted that while CNN 10 claims to be news for students, on a recent episode, host Carl Azuz suggested that the cause of inflation in America was due not to the Biden administration but… Russian aggression. “One big reason is uncertainty about the situation in Ukraine, which we discussed on yesterday’s show.” The host added it “remains to be seen whether things will stay that way or normalize in the days ahead.”

Concerned about what is being shown to their children, one mother was worried that the schools were teaching the students that CNN is a “label you can trust”. On more than one occasion, CNN has been caught spreading misinformation of their own. Not to mention the numerous scandals surrounding the network.

Among the several topics discussed on the channel, the Washington Free Beacon pointed on recent topics included “Crude oil, gas prices, and inflation are rising: Are they connected?” and “chimpanzee empathy”.
