The hits for the Biden administration and the Democrats appear to keep on coming as a new NBC News poll shows that President Joe Biden’s approval rating has reached the lowest point since his time in the White House. Only receiving a 40% approval, a staggering 71% of Americans believed that America was heading in the wrong direction and it isn’t due to Ukraine, Russia, or COVID-19. According to the polls, it all rests on the leadership of President Biden himself.

The poll, conducted by Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinions Strategy and Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, asked 1,000 Americans over a four day period their stance on the current administration. It should be noted that 790 of those asked were registered voters. Still, McInturff said, “What this poll says is that President Biden and Democrats are headed for a catastrophic election”.

Although Biden’s second year in office, the 2022 midterm elections are approaching fast and many polls have already predicted massive wins for the GOP. Since winning the 2020 Presidential election, Biden has had what some would call a disastrous first year. The economy, gas prices, Afghanistan, COVID-19, and the Southern border have all plagued the White House and America since Democrats gained control of D.C.

While the polls were dismal for Biden, Horwitt admitted, “One thing that has not happened — at least yet — is a rally-around-the-flag reaction with Joe Biden’s job rating increasing. The potential for that to occur could still happen if America becomes more directly involved, but at this stage it is not there.”

As for the Democratic strongholds the Biden administration will most definitely rely on, the Washington Free Beacon reported, “According to a Public Policy Institute of California poll released Thursday, just 46 percent of likely California voters approve of Biden, while 51 percent disapprove. Those numbers mark a 19-point skid in just one year—a 2021 poll from the same group showed Biden with the support of 65 percent of likely voters in the Golden State. Biden won the support of roughly 60 percent of California voters in 2020.”
