Not only having watched the massive wave of censorship that covered Twitter thanks to the supposed war on disinformation, billionaire Elon Musk has also been a target of censorship as he did nothing more than make a proposal to buy the platform for a staggering $44 billion. After that, the once beloved SpaceX CEO was criticized and attacked online for his stance on free speech, the internet, and the dangers of being the gatekeepers of truth and facts. Now, after months of smear campaigns and the liberal media claiming one person shouldn’t hold all the power over a platform, Musk admitted that while he once voted Democratic, his stance has changed.

Speaking at a tech conference in Miami, Musk said, “The reality is that Twitter at this point, you know, has a very far left bias. I would classify myself as a moderate, neither Republican nor Democrat. I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically — I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear. Now this election I will.”

Believing himself to be a moderate, the billionaire added that his buying of Twitter would not be “some right-wing takeover as people on the left may fear”, but a place where a user can express themselves without being worried about censorship or “shadow-banning”.

As for the own backlash he has received, Musk joked, “I mean, I get trashed by the media all the time. That’s fine. I don’t care, good. Do it twice as much, I couldn’t care less. But it’s indicative of the fact that, even though I have a lot of resources, I do not actually have the ability to stop the media from trashing me — and that’s a good thing. ”

Although there has been a great deal of concern surrounding Musk buying Twitter, it should be noted that the sale was placed on hold after the company CEO suggested the platform was dealing with an bot account issue. While Twitter claimed the number of bot accounts were only around 5%, Musk thought it could be as high as 20%.
