Recently, parents have come under intense criticism for how they handle their children if they decided they were transgender. With the Democrats supporting gender identity and sexual orientation being taught to children, parents lashed out at their school districts and the Democrats for exposing kids to such subject material. While the parents were labeled domestic terrorists, it seems that Virginia Democrat Delegate Elizabeth Guzman wants parents who don’t acknowledge their child’s gender identity to be a misdemeanor.

Announcing plans to introduce a bill that would hold parents accountable for not affirming their child’s gender identity, Elizabeth Guzman admitted to reporters, “If the child shares with those mandated reporters, what they are going through, we are talking about not only physical abuse or mental abuse, what the job of that mandated reporter is to inform Child Protective Services. And then that’s how everybody gets involved. There’s also an investigation in place that is not only from a social worker but there’s also a police investigation before we make the decision that there is going to be a CPS charge.”

As for the punishment brought against parents if the bill passed, Guzman added, “What could the penalties be if the investigation concludes that a parent is not affirming of their LGBTQ child? What could the consequences be? Well, we first have to complete an investigation. It could be a felony, it could be a misdemeanor, but we know that CPS charge could harm your employment, could harm their education, because nowadays many people do a CPS database search before offering employment.”

Thanks to the leadership of Governor Glenn Youngkin, the Department of Education noted that team sports in the state would be based on parental rights and the athlete’s biological sex. His office asserted, “parents are in the best position to work with their children and, where appropriate, their children’s health care providers to determine (a) what names, nicknames, and/or pronouns, if any, shall be used for their child by teachers and school staff while their child is at school, (b) whether their child engages in any counseling or social transition at school that encourages a gender that differs from their child’s sex, or (c) whether their child expresses a gender that differs with their child’s sex while at school.”

Speaking at a rally dedicated to concerned parents in September, Governor Youngkin, who beat former Democrat Ralph Northam, said, “These same progressives in Fairfax County actually believe they should lock parents out of their children’s lives. They think parents have no right to know what your child is discussing with their teacher or counselor.”

Elizabeth Guzman believes that the Youngkin administration is bullying transgender children in the state. She tweeted back in September, “I am so proud of our kids throughout Virginia who are standing up to the bullying of this administration! This is what John Lewis meant by ‘good trouble’.
