Jahn’s brother, however, told NBC News that he was surprised by the incident and downplayed his sibling’s views on federal immigration enforcement.

“I didn’t think he was politically interested,” Noah Jahn said.

“He wasn’t interested in politics on either side as far as I knew. He didn’t have strong feelings about ICE as far as I knew.”

Federal investigators recovered evidence linking Jahn to anti-ICE sentiment, including markings on the ammunition he used.

Despite his brother’s statements, authorities have pointed to those details as an indication of his motive.
