A 25-year-old alleged hit man connected to a Philadelphia street gang has been taken into custody following a years-long manhunt for three separate murders, including the killing of a 16-year-old, according to federal authorities, as reported by The New York Post.

Tyvine Jones was arrested Wednesday at an apartment complex in Delaware County, the U.S. Marshals Service Philadelphia announced. Jones had been sought in connection with three fatal shootings that occurred in Philadelphia between 2020 and 2022.

“Tyvine Jones was one of Philadelphia’s ‘Most Wanted’ for his role in the murder of three individuals between 2020 and 2022,” said Eric Gartner, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, in a statement following the arrest.

Authorities allege Jones was a member and hit man for the so-called “Blumberg” gang. Investigators have linked him to three separate homicides that took place across the city in August 2020, May 2022, and September 2022. The victims were 16, 20, and 23 years old. All three died from gunshot wounds, authorities said, without providing additional details about the circumstances of the killings.

Jones had been the subject of an intensive search involving multiple agencies. Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark previously described Jones as “the very worst society has to offer.”

“His disregard for human life poses a continued threat to the public and he should be considered armed and highly dangerous,” Clark said.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the arrest followed an anonymous tip that led investigators to the Stratford Court Apartments in Delaware County, where Jones was believed to be hiding. Members of a task force, including U.S. Marshals, agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, and Philadelphia Police Department homicide detectives, responded to the location.

Authorities said the complex was surrounded as officers worked to locate Jones. He was found at the apartment complex and taken into custody without incident.

After his arrest, Jones was transported to the Philadelphia Homicide Detective Division for processing. No injuries were reported during the operation.

Federal officials emphasized that the arrest was the result of coordinated efforts among local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Gartner praised the work of the task force and reiterated a commitment to pursuing violent offenders accused of serious crimes in the city.

“Together with our Philadelphia PD and other partners, our commitment to the citizens of Philadelphia remains steadfast: the relentless pursuit of violent fugitives such as Tyvine Jones, whose unrestrained existence serves only to diminish our great city,” Gartner said.

Authorities have not released additional information about upcoming court proceedings or potential charges beyond the homicide investigations. The case remains under review as Jones is processed through the criminal justice system.

The arrest marks the end of a manhunt that spanned several years and multiple jurisdictions, bringing into custody a suspect authorities say was responsible for multiple deadly shootings across Philadelphia.
