Stephen Miller described an interagency effort under President Trump to disrupt criminal cartels and foreign terrorist organizations, citing a recent seizure of an illicit oil tanker as part of a broader strategy to protect American lives and secure the nation’s borders.

Miller said the administration has directed multiple federal departments to confront threats tied to terrorism financing, drug trafficking, and transnational crime.

“Since President Trump has come into office, Democrats have sided with at every step of the way, the criminal cartels, the narco terrorists and the criminally illegal aliens who deal drugs, narcotics, traffic weapons, children and engage in all kinds of crimes against humanity in the United States and throughout the Western Hemisphere,” Miller said.

He said Trump mobilized federal agencies to prioritize defensive actions.

“President Trump has directed the Department of War, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, to prioritize the defense of American lives and borders by taking the fight directly to these criminal cartels and these foreign terrorist organizations,” he said.

Miller pointed to a recent coordinated mission.

“You mentioned today the historic action, an interagency operation involving the United States Coast Guard, involving the Department of Justice, involving the Department of War, to seize an illicit oil tanker that is directly involved in funding and financing terrorism,” he said.

He explained how such operations disrupt illicit financial networks.

“So again, these these illicit, ill gotten financial proceeds from the sanctioned transactions are used to finance Murder, Mayhem, drug trafficking and terrorism across the Western Hemisphere and directly in the United States,” Miller said.

Miller said adversarial regimes rely on covert maritime operations to bypass sanctions.

“So these regimes use these ghost fleets, these dark fleets, to evade sanctions and to fund and finance and export terrorism, violence and death,” he said.

He closed by restating Trump’s position on the issue.

“And President Trump has said, we will defend and protect American lives, and that’s what’s happening,” Miller said.
