Vice President of the United States J.D. Vance said the Trump administration has already delivered major results on border security and the economy, pointing to sharp reductions in illegal immigration and improved conditions for American workers less than a year into the term.

Speaking to supporters, Vance said the administration’s early record reflects a dramatic reversal from the previous administration’s policies and outcomes.

“There’s still so much important work to do, my friends, we’re barely a year into this administration, not even a year into the administration, but I’m so proud of the accomplishments of the President and the entire administration,” Vance said. “In just a year we ended Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s border crisis.”

His remarks were met with applause.

Vance pointed to sustained enforcement at the southern border as a central achievement, highlighting a stretch of months without releases into the interior.

“December marks seven months straight of zero releases at the southern border,” he said, drawing further applause from the crowd.

He said those policies have resulted in a historic shift in migration patterns.

“More than 2.5 million illegal immigrants have left the United States the first time in over 50 years that we have had negative net migration, and it’s just the start,” Vance said, again prompting applause.

According to Vance, restoring enforcement at the border has produced measurable economic effects nationwide, particularly for working Americans.

“When you restore sanity at the border, it shows up everywhere else,” he said.

“Rent prices are dropping four months in a row, and more native born Americans are working than ever before.”

Vance contrasted those outcomes with the previous administration’s approach, directly blaming former leadership for economic damage tied to immigration policy.

“Kamala Harris opened the border and destroyed the economy,” he said. “The Trump administration gave you net negative migration and much more job creation.”

The crowd responded with applause.

Vance said broader economic indicators are now moving in a positive direction, crediting the administration’s policies for easing financial pressure on families.

“Real wages are finally growing,” he said. “Inflation is half of what it was under Democrats. Gas prices are their lowest in years, and we have finally made it clear that in the United States we believe in hard work and merit.”
