A 64-year-old woman married to Jill Biden’s ex-husband was found dead inside her Delaware home late Sunday after law enforcement responded to a reported domestic dispute, authorities confirmed, as reported by The New York Post.

Linda Stevenson was found unresponsive on the living room floor of the Oak Hill residence she shared with her husband, Bill Stevenson, according to the New Castle County Police Department.

Officers arrived at the home around 11:15 p.m. after receiving a call reporting a family dispute.

Police said officers attempted life-saving measures, but Stevenson was pronounced dead at the scene.

“It’s still a murder investigation,” Stevenson’s daughter, Christina Vettori, told the Daily Mail on Tuesday afternoon, before adding, “I would not like to talk at this time.”

Law enforcement officials later pushed back on claims that the case is being treated as a homicide. Police said the matter is currently classified as a “death investigation.”

“Detectives from the Division’s Criminal Investigations Unit were notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation,” police said in a statement.

A 911 dispatch recording obtained by TMZ referenced a “cardiac arrest” at the residence, though police have not confirmed the cause of death.

No charges have been filed in connection with Stevenson’s death, and authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.

Her body has been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science, where an autopsy will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Bill Stevenson was married to Jill Biden from 1970 until their separation in 1974. The couple finalized their divorce in 1975. Jill Biden later married Joe Biden two years later.

Bill Stevenson has previously made public allegations regarding the end of his marriage to Jill Biden. He has claimed that she had an affair with Joe Biden before their divorce.

According to Stevenson, he and his then-wife became close to Joe Biden in 1972 while working on Biden’s first campaign for the U.S. Senate.

That same year, Joe Biden’s first wife, Neilia, and their infant daughter were killed in a car crash, a tragedy that left Biden a widower.

Bill Stevenson has said he first suspected an affair in 1974.

However, the Bidens have consistently stated publicly that they met on a blind date in 1975, after Jill Biden’s first marriage had ended and after Joe Biden had lost his first wife.

Authorities have released a few details about the events leading up to the domestic dispute call on Sunday night. Police have not disclosed whether anyone else was present in the home at the time of Stevenson’s death.

The New Castle County Police Department said further information will be released once the medical examiner completes the autopsy and investigators determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
