Turning Point USA leaders publicly confirmed that the conservative organization is fully backing Vice President of the United States J.D. Vance as speculation continues to build over potential contenders for the 2028 presidential election, as reported by Fox News.

The announcement was made during Turning Point USA’s annual AmericaFest conference, which brought together conservative activists, elected officials, and students from across the country.

The event marked the first AmericaFest held since the assassination of the organization’s founder, Charlie Kirk.

Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, said the organization’s support for Vice President Vance has been longstanding and was made explicit during the conference.

Kolvet discussed Turning Point USA’s position during an appearance on America’s Newsroom on Monday.

“We’re all in behind Vice President JD Vance. Charlie considered him a generational talent and somebody that could lead this nation forward,” Kolvet said.

“Heading into 2028, Turning Point’s going to be all-in for the vice president.”

Kolvet said the endorsement reflects the close relationship between Vance and the late Charlie Kirk, noting that internal support had been clear well before it was stated publicly.

He said AmericaFest provided an opportunity to formally acknowledge what many within the organization already understood.

Kolvet explained that Charlie Kirk had effectively signaled his support for Vance months before his death. “Charlie had basically endorsed him already for months beforehand,” Kolvet said.

Turning Point USA, which has built a large national following among Gen Z conservatives, held AmericaFest on Thursday.

The event featured speeches and appearances from prominent Republican figures and activists. Organizers said the gathering was intended to energize young conservatives and outline priorities for the future of the movement.

Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk and the current CEO of Turning Point USA, addressed attendees during her introductory remarks at the conference.

She made clear that the organization intends to play an active role in future presidential politics.

“We are going to get my husband’s friend, JD Vance, elected for 48 in the most resounding way possible,” Erika Kirk said, referring to the election of the 48th president of the United States.

Kolvet said the decision to close AmericaFest with Vice President Vance’s address was deliberate and meaningful. He described the atmosphere surrounding the vice president’s speech as focused and attentive, particularly among younger attendees.

“Ending it with the vice president, it felt like the adults are in the room,” Kolvet said.

“He’s gonna sum it up, he’s gonna tell everybody, ‘Hey, settle down. Here’s the north star, here’s where we’re going.’ And I can tell you his speech just resonated so profoundly with so many people, especially the students.”

According to Kolvet, many students in attendance told him that Vance’s address stood out among all the speakers at the event. He said students described the speech as “the best thing that they’d ever seen.”

Turning Point USA has not announced any formal political action plans related to the 2028 election, but the public endorsement places the organization squarely behind Vice President Vance as conversations about the next presidential race continue to gain momentum within conservative circles.
