The Biden campaign has made several announcements with regards to his pick for vice president over the spring and summer.

We first learned that it would be a minority woman, which ruled out several potential female candidates that could bring experience to the ticket.

It was later announced that America would learn who his pick was the first week of August.

However, reports now indicate that the campaign will delay their announcement until the days leading up to the Democratic National Convention, which is scheduled to take place August 17-20.

While rumors about former First Lady Michelle Obama have stirred up excitement, that particular scenario seems to be the least likely, albeit the one that would give Biden the best chance at unseating President Trump.

The more realistic front runners that check the minority female box are as follows:

Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.);

Representative Karen Bass (D-Calif.);

Former national security adviser Susan Rice;

Illinois senator Tammy Duckworth.

Though Senator Elizabeth Warren has been mentioned as well, she is only a minority in her own mind.

Stacey Abrams, who has made a hard push to be considered, would perhaps be the most disastrous choice the Biden campaign could make, as she is not taken seriously by most in political circles.

While we won’t find out this week it seems, it’s just a few short weeks until the convention and campaign efforts from both sides are expected to increase dramatically on or around Labor Day.
